Integrated Systems and Photonics


Together with project partners a portable and fully automated
optoelectronic measurment instrument for veterinary diagnostics will be
developed based on organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic
photodiodes (OPDs). The innovation of the planned approach lies in the
direct integration of these optical elements into a microfluidic
disposable, which is controlled by a control and reading device and
allows for fast and portable detection of pathogenic organisms from
biological materials selectively via their specific nucleic acids. For
this purpose, all components of microfluidics, optics and electronics
are miniaturized and integrated as far as possible, so that a simple
control and read-out device can be realized.
